Why is the Supreme Court so lame? How do I explain this to my children when they have rights too?

Considering the definition of marriage is a formal and mutually beneficial agreement between two parties, I am sure there will no problem understanding what marriage is.

I’d agree with jurydoc as well, except to say that if Californians put this in the form of a Constitutional amendment, the Court won’t be able to validly overturn that. The CA constitution is above the court, and the US Constitution doesn’t give them anything to work with on state treatment of marriages.
