What is legal when you talk to an 18 year old?

The last thing I want is my crush to be charged with a misdemeanor. I know it is illegal to have sex with him.
I’m 16, he is 18; we live in California.
I know the age of consent and everything, but, if is it bad for him to get pictures(dirty)? Is it illegal for like, say oral sex? Or is it illegal to like talk about things, like, that we want to do?

      all those things you mentioned are illegal. It would be illegal to even be boyfriend/girlfriend
