Why do we pay taxes if there is no law that requires us and the supreme court agreed?
Filed Under legal | 8 Comments
okstatecowboy asked:
There is no mandated law that requires taxation? The supreme court agreed in 1898 and 1913…Further, the only writing about it says that it is “voluntary cooperation”. So why do we pay?
For all the answers that say income taxes provide this and that…You’re wrong. Gas tax fixes and builds roads. Property tax pays for schools.

Which supreme court ruling ruled that the police can’t force you to show an ID if you didn’t break a law?

josh s asked:
Basically I live in IL and there is a curfew law saying i can’t be out after a certain time. I heard there was a supreme court ruling that said the police can’t demand to see an ID without us breaking a different law (such as speeding or running a red light). If you could provide a link, that would be great. Thanks so much.
