Dylan asked:

When in my free time I’m an aspiring rapper. Hence the name, Yung Cox. But I no longer make my own beats. So I was wondering, would it be legal to use other people’s beats? Such as Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, etc. Famous rappers. I know Lil Wayne, and Ya Boy do it as mix tapes, but unsure if I should proceed at the risk of being sued

You should be fine as long as you aren’t making any money off of what you record. If you are doing it strictly for promotional use then do it. If you get to the level where someone big like that wants to sue you then you probably will have a deal on the table and a lawyer to help you out.
