tdejong834 asked:

For example, if a state constitution were to ban gay marriage, could the Supreme Court rule that part of a state constitution unconstitional under the U.S. Constitution and have it repealed? Can they rule a part of the U.S. Constitution unconstitutional and remove it?

The constitution unconstitutional since by definition as being part of states constitution it cannot be unconstitutional eg the constitution is considered the us constitution unconstitutional only by amendment was needed.
