I own some shares of csun and csun has been in trouble with class action lawsuit by 4 different firms since 9/17/2007. The price of shares dropped 10% everytime a law firm announced a class action lawsuit against csun.
what exactly is class action lawsuit? Is it a big matter?
In one news, it says “Investors Have Only Fifty Three (53) Days Remaining to Move for Lead Plaintiff in Securities Class Action Lawsuit” What’s going to happen after 53 days? Should I sell my shares of csun asap? Are they going to force csun closed after 53 days?
Why so many law firms want to sue csun? What’s the difference between suing csun one time and suing csun 4 times? Are they suing csun for justice or suing for money?
I dont have much knowledge in law, big thank to everyone who reply my question seriously.

Long story short, the landlord turned out to be a scammer and scammed me out of $2700 in advance rent payment. I gave him the 30-day notice 2 days after signing the contract, so I should be entitled the amount - (1 month rent) 21 days after vacating. It has been over 30 days now and I will be filing a lawsuit.
Here’s the twist…
This is an older couple (in their early 50’s) and the guy is being completely transparent in the transactions (only accepting cash, having his girlfriend sign all documentation). Basically, he is hiding behind her, making her liable for everything.
He is now out and about (possibly trying to run away and prevent getting served) and I will be filing the lawsuit against both him (as the agent) and her (as the person that signed the contract with).
They have no bank accounts (my check was converted to cash rather than deposited), owe on their car payments, have no realestate, unemployed.
What are my chances of getting my money back?
Since I had previously gotten him to accept checks, I found out that they did not have a bank account because their driver’s license # is written on my return check.
I have both their legal names, but only have the driver’s license of the woman–she’s basically who I signed the contract with, so I’m suing her.
He is probably gone with the money and left her partner hanging with this debt.
I cannot live in there for the amount they owe me because I already gave them 30-day notice 30 days ago and turned in the key. I told them I wanted the refund March 20, 2008 or I will file a lawsuit.

Filed Under legal | 4 Comments
I am reading an article and there is portion that I don’t completely understand.
Portion of Article:
The original plaintiff in the massive lawsuit certified as a class action yesterday said she is “ecstatic” about a California judge’s ruling that a gender- discrimination lawsuit against Wal-Mart could move forward as a class action. [end]
What is a “class action”?

I was one of the unfortunate people left holding worthless Skybus tickets for travel in May. I contacted my bank right away and had to fill out dispute forms to get my money back. The bank guy said its basically hopeless b/c Skybus filling bankrupcy will result in goverment protection. He said the only way to get my money back was to join a class action lawsuit.
Does anyone know if there’s one going on? Any contact info on it?
Oh! BTW. I had used my debit/check card b/c I had the money in my account and didn’t want to charge it to a credit card and have to pay interest. So the money was instantly removed from my account. Not like a cc that I could just dispute paying the charges…

Mock lawsuit between two cartoon characters or Disney characters: who would you choose?
Filed Under legal | 3 Comments
I wasn’t sure if I should choose the Law category over the TV category, but here I go regardless…
I have to make up a mock lawsuit for my law class between either two cartoon characters or two Disney characters. It is required that I fully develope both sides of the case as well as include “evidence”. I cannot make up the situation; it must have occured in the movie or episode. A good example would be Wile E. Coyote suing ACME for personal injury as a result of defective products. Another example would be Bugs Bunny suing Elmer Phud or even Tweety suing Sylvester. Unfortunately, I cannot use any of those because they were classroom examples. Does anyone have any ideas? An amusing situation from like, South Park or Family Guy would be pretty fun to do, especially because we can submit video evidence. I just don’t watch TV enough to think of a situation from either of those shows off of the top of my head. Really, I would love to hear any and every idea anyone can come up with.
