Civil Lawsuit?

flamboyant asked:

I was involved in a civil lawsuit… There were two defendants that I was suing. The judge dismissed one of the defendants in the middle of the trial (this is a superior court trial). The judge awarded me $350k from the other defendant. However, the defendant that he dismissed was the one with insurance, so basically I get nothing. Can I appeal the desision?
Don’t tell me to ask my lawyer. This happend yesterday and he along with all of us are shell shocked. He will contact me in a couple of days, I want to know now.
The defendant who owes the money has no assets no job no house. I will get no money from him, so that’s out of the question!

The other party depending on whether he did that before he awarded you might not be able to appeal the judge dismissed the decision.
